Campaign Compass: The Promo Organizer I Built for Indie Authors

As an indie author, I spend a fair amount of time working with BookFunnel promos, newsletter swaps, MailerLite campaigns, and the other moving pieces that come with trying to get books in front of readers.

Eventually, keeping track of all of it started becoming a project of its own.

That is why I created Campaign Compass through Mind Forge Studio.

Campaign Compass is a desktop app designed to keep BookFunnel promos, BookClicker swaps, outbound promo commitments, and MailerLite campaigns organized in one place, so you can see what is scheduled, what has been confirmed, and what still needs follow-up.

Keeping the Moving Pieces Together

Campaign Compass is meant to help with the administrative side of author promotion.

It gives you one place to keep track of:

  • BookFunnel promos you are participating in.
  • BookClicker swaps and their scheduled dates.
  • Outbound promo commitments, so you can keep track of the promotions you have agreed to send for other authors.
  • MailerLite campaigns connected to your promotional schedule.

The goal is not to replace those services. It is to make it easier to keep track of what you are doing across them.

Why I Built It

Campaign Compass started with a fairly simple problem.

The more promotions and swaps I scheduled, the more information ended up spread between websites, calendars, emails, notes, and campaign tools.

I wanted a better way to see the whole picture without having to reconstruct it every time I sat down to work on my author marketing.

So I built the tool I wanted to use myself.

Campaign Compass has grown from that original idea, but the basic purpose has stayed the same: reduce the amount of time spent figuring out what is happening next and make promotional commitments easier to manage.
